The purpose was to see \u201dthe sea of clouds\u201d that appear for one hour after opening (and one hour before closing). The artificial mist machine, time-limited, and well-executed promotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_03.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-935\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_03.jpg 800w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_03-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_03-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_03-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_03-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Echizen Daibutsu (Great Buddha) is the largest indoor seated Buddha in Japan, with a height of 17 meters.<br>It is taller than the Great Buddha of T\u014ddai-ji in Nara, which is about 15 meters tall.<br>There is also a \u201cButsu\u201d (\u4ecf) character placed nearby, and if you stand next to it with your arms and legs spread out in an \u201cX\u201d shape, you can take a photo that looks like you are a Great Buddha yourself.<br>I saw a character \u201cButsu\u201d (\u4ecf)  and thought of France.<br>Echizen Great Buddha is also known as the \u201cBuddha of Success,\u201d and I hope it brings good luck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a side note, the tallest standing Buddha in Japan is the Ushiku Daibutsu in Ibaraki Prefecture, which is 120 meters tall \u2014 about the same height as the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in front of Fukui Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_04.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-936\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_04.jpg 800w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_04-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_04-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_04-80x60.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When the bell is rung, a clear sound echoes throughout the area, leaving a lingering impression and a feeling of purification. The air is refreshing and mysterious. After being shown the place by a local guide, we stood there for a commemorative photo \u2014 smile!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is said that the great Buddhist priest Taich\u014d once saw the goddess of Mt. The guide talks about a story related to stones along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_16.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-942\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_16.jpg 800w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_16-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_16-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_16-80x60.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A photo of the magnificent \u201cascending dragon\u201d carving at the Main Shrine.<br>Together with the \u201cdescending dragon\u201d carving on the opposite side, it supports the eaves of the shrine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guide at Heisenji Hakusan Shrine shared stories that were deeply informative and enriching.<br>I also appreciated their cheerful personality.<br>It really is enjoyable to visit famous spots while listening to local guides. <br>I think it was nice that I was able to stop by places that I might have passed by if I had been traveling alone, thanks to the guide&#8217;s guidance.<br>As a guide myself, I would like to be that kind of guide myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_21.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-943\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_21.jpg 800w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_21-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_21-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fukuitourguides.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250803_21-80x60.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our final destination was Hanatsuki-ro, where we had lunch. <br>This restaurant is not just a place to eat, but also a historic building completed in 1897, with a history of 128 years.
